We're excited to launch Sharey this month in New York City after successful beta testing. We're currently hard at work onboarding select restaurants to be featured on the platform at launch.

Executive Summary

1. Take a photo, earn points, help the next diner. Sharey is a menu app that rewards people for sharing real dining experiences, turning everyday moments into better Menus and easier discovery for everyone who comes next.

2. Food connects people, technology helps it scale. We use technology to make food more visual, more understandable, and easier to explore, helping restaurants share what makes them special beyond the dining room and boosting their bottom line.

3. Real customers build stronger brands than ads. By incentivizing local diners to share photos and stories, Sharey turns trusted word of mouth into a modern brand multiplier for independent restaurants.

4. Menus are the foundation. We are building the infrastructure for menus, using AI to keep them accurate, visual, and useful, and layering in tools like dietary filters, recommendations, and insights over time.

5. Consumer first creates leverage for restaurants. By starting with diners, we unlock demand that allows us to later offer restaurants direct marketing, SEO and GEO visibility, and owned tools without relying on high fee, ad driven platforms.

6. Built for the long game. Every restaurant in the world has a menu, and Sharey is playing the long game to make menus better everywhere, starting in New York City and expanding outward. Our long term goal is to give independent restaurants the same leverage as large chains, without locking them into high fee, ad driven platforms.

The Vision Behind Sharey

Technology is commonly known as the great equalizer, and food should be known as the great connector. Across cultures, people have always used meals to connect and understand the world around them. Every culture expresses its food uniquely, but shares it with open arms to anyone willing to try something new. The name Sharey comes from this belief, that sharing food and experiences is one of the most powerful ways cultures spread and connections multiply.

Food has always been social, long before phones ever existed. Today, phones are simply part of how people discover new places, decide what to order, and share experiences with friends, and will only continue to do so as time goes on. Sharey is building a system that supports that behavior by using the photos people take to make it easier for others to explore new dishes with confidence, while also building a business that can provide value to users and businesses at scale.

Sharey is built on a simple idea, reward real people for sharing real dining experiences. By incentivizing diners to take photos, name dishes, and share their experience, we help restaurants build clearer, more informative menus while turning word of mouth into something that compounds. Furthermore, if our product leads to even one person trying something new and experiencing a new culture, we would consider ourselves successful.

At its core, Sharey is a rewards app for in person dining. Users earn points by taking photos of their food, naming the dish, and optionally sharing their experience through Instagram stories. Those photos are used to build visual, easy to use menus where people can filter by dishes and dietary needs, while users can redeem points for gift cards through our third party partner.

The real benefit for restaurants in today's world is authenticity. The pictures featured on our app come from real customers, not expensive photo shoots. Furthermore, we are trying to build a system that incentivizes sharing pictures, not reviews. In fact, there are no reviews at all on the Sharey app. According to Nielsen, 92 percent of consumers trust recommendations from friends and family more than any other form of marketing. Sharey's Instagram multiplier turns that trust into visibility by rewarding customers for sharing pictures of their experience where their friends already are.

As time progresses, innovation follows, and what Sharey is building is inevitable. The shift toward visual decision making is already happening. Delivery platforms now pay users to take photos because visuals drive confidence and increase orders, but those photos live inside closed delivery apps. Sharey brings that same signal to in person dining, helping people decide what to order at the table.

As Sharey grows, we aim to do for menus what Resy and OpenTable did for reservations. We are laying the foundation for AI agents that can onboard menus, keep them accurate as prices and items change, and handle image review at scale. Over time, this foundation allows us to layer in recommendations, dietary filters, health overlays, and menu writing tools, creating the most complete menu product ever built.

Our focus starts with the consumer because that is where value is created. We are very transparent with our pricing and how many rewards we give out per month because we want everyone to join us on our mission and build a functioning business. Rewards, no matter how small, provide an opportunity to engage consumers by giving them some value, especially in a world where every dollar counts. In fact, during our beta where we tested the variable rewards, the average reward size per customer was around $1, showing the massive potential ROI for restaurants on our platform, on any of the plans. Once consumers are engaged, we can build tools that help restaurant owners grow through direct relationships, including email marketing, stronger SEO and GEO through ShareyMenus.com, and eventually fully owned restaurant websites and AI tools.

We're launching Sharey in New York City because there is no better place to eat. New York is the most diverse food city in the world, where thousands of cuisines exist within a few miles of each other. If we can help people explore food here, we believe that energy will carry everywhere else.

This is just the beginning. Sharey is being built alongside the restaurants and customers who believe food should be easier to explore and better represented online.

“If I'm an advocate for anything, it's to move. As far as you can, as much as you can. Across the ocean, or simply across the river. The extent to which you can walk in someone else's shoes or at least eat their food, it's a plus for everybody. Open your mind, get up off the couch, move.” Anthony Bourdain
